Kicking Booties With Our Brains

Good News: We're going to State!!!

Bad News: We've got to practice and stuuuuuuudy!

Practices will be held every Monday and Thursday from now until competition on February 26. This page will give you links to some sites you should be spending time on in the next few weeks. Try to take some time each day to study and prepare. We will only do well if we have all done our best, so do this not only for yourself, but for your teammates as well.

Newbery Winners List - These come up again and again in competition. This is a very important page to study. Try to remember author names, but also go look up summaries using Google or another search engine.

BBC Big Read List - No I'm not saying go read all of these in the next month. I would however look up summaries and note the author names if I were you.

Fake BBC Book List- This has been all over Facebook. It's not actually a list of books that the BBC put out, but it is a good list for you to look to for summary and author study as well as reading inspiration for later. Not all fake Facebook posts are bad.

Sparknotes - I know, I know. Education heresy. I want you to read them all later, but for now, just use this to read up on them. You mainly need a basic plot overview for now.

Book-a-minute Classics - So this is half for prep and half for fun. At least look at it. Not as much info as even Sparknotes, but it is fairly accurate with its super short summaries

Free Rice- A fun educational game that covers a variety of subject areas. Click on subjects to change from vocabulary to art, grammar, math, etc.

Mrs. Price's Webpage- There are several educational tool and educational game sites linked from the class tools and randomness pages. Geography Bee Challenge--Daily quizzes about the World, including the animals, places, people, religions, etc....
